Caño Island Snorkeling or Scuba Tour

Caño island is one of the best places in Costa Rica to snorkel and dive. There are a lot of good companies in the area that do this tour. We like the tour with Bahia Aventuras. It is nothing more than spectacular. In our experience, the staff is friendly, professional, and knowledgable about the wildlife. The tour starts with a 40 minute boat ride out to the island. Once there you will go to several spots to snorkel around the island. On the way back they will take you to a special secluded beach where you will have a traditional lunch amongst the birds. Then they take you up the coast where you will see many of the best caves, coves, and island masses in the area. Then, it's back to Marino Ballena National park for a bit more snorkeling before the tour ends. Wear a long sleeve UV water shirt while snorkeling. The sun is much more intense in Costa Rica and you will burn fast.

Sierpe Mangrove Tour

South of the home is the Corcovado Nation Park. Corcovado National Park is a reserve on southwest Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula that protects varied tropical ecosystems. Considered one of the world's most biodiverse regions, its wildlife includes scarlet macaws, tapirs, jaguars and squirrel monkeys. Hiking trails follow coastal and inland routes through habitats ranging from Pacific beaches and mangrove swamps to lowland and montane rainforests.

Their guided tours travel through the protected tributaries and mangroves teeming with abundant wildlife
On this tour you have a chance of seeing three different species of monkeys, many birds including Macaws, Herons, Egrets, Caracaras, Kingfishers, Hawks plus the slow-moving sloth, crocodiles, caimans, snakes, turtles, the very fast Jesus Lizard racing over water and so much more. The multi-lingual local guides know the river well. Upon spotting an animal or bird they will position the boat for a great viewing and the perfect camera shot.
The fun three hours tour includes a bimini-shade top boat, bottled water, and fruit soda to stay refreshed.
